Description of Silico-manganese

Silicon-manganese alloys are mainly used as intermediate materials for deoxidizers and alloying agents in steel production, and are also the main raw materials for the production of medium and low carbon ferromanganese. Silicon-manganese alloy is an alloy composed of manganese, silicon, iron and a small amount of carbon and other elements. It is a ferroalloy with wide application and large output. Silicon-manganese alloys can be smelted in continuous operation in large, medium and small submerged arc furnaces.


The use of Silico-manganese

Silicon and manganese in silicon-manganese alloys have a strong affinity for oxygen. The oxides produced by ferrosilicon manganese in molten steel have the advantages of low melting point, easy floating, large particles and good deoxidation effect. If manganese and silicon are used to deoxidize separately under the same conditions, the ignition loss rate will be higher than that of ferrosilicomanganese, so it is considered to be an indispensable composite deoxidizer and alloy additive in the iron and steel industry.
